Learn about the Principles that Underpin Forensic Analysis

This course will help you understand what forensic science is, and how it can be applied to investigate crimes and the dynamics of legal processes. You will be able to explain crime scenes, different categories of evidence and how they are collected. You will also be able to describe how different types of evidences that are tested on site and in the laboratory, explain the roles of specialists and services in forensics, understand the theories underlying criminal behaviour, psychological disorders and how they relate to criminal behaviour,; how data is assessed to profile criminals, understand how evidence is presented in court, and the influence of ethical issues on use of data and profiling.

Each lesson culminates in an assignment which is submitted to the school, marked by the school's tutors and returned to you with any relevant suggestions, comments, and if necessary, extra reading.
